Recital FAQs
When is your recital? Our spring recital is hosted every year on either the 2nd or 3rd weekend of June, depending on how the calendar falls.
What is a recital? Our annual recital is a showcase of different dance styles across all ages! All students that wish to participate in recital will be in at least one routine. The amount of routines your child is in is based on their age and the number of classes they take. Our performers range in age from 2 to 76!! You will see toddlers, school age children, teachers and new adults onstage showcasing what they have worked all year to achieve!
How long is your recital? It’s not a short show! Altogether, there’s usually around 3 1/2 hours of dancing being showcased in one day. However, all of our younger students appear in the 2nd Act after intermission, so most of our younger and recreational dancers can view the 2nd Act as an entire recital which is under 2 hours!
Do I have to sit still for 3 1/2 hours? No! We don’t expect anybody to be able to sit still for 3 1/2 hours with only one intermission. You are free to leave your seat as desired, but please wait until in between dances to do so! Walking through the seats during a dance blocks the view of other attendees who are watching their students perform so please wait until a dance is over before leaving or returning to your seat. Memorial Auditorium has a large lobby that you can hang out in or you can go sit on the steps out front if it’s a nice day. We want everybody to be as comfortable as possible.
How much are tickets? Tickets are $15 and can be bought beforehand or at the door. All performers’ families pay a recital fee of $75 for a single dancer or $95 for a family. Single dancer families receive 4 wristbands for free admission for 4, and families with more than 1 dancer in the show receive 6 wristbands for free entry with their recital fee. The recital fee also covers the rental of the auditorium, mic rentals, stage lights, etc. There are many expenses in putting the recital on and these are covered by the recital fees and ticket sales.
